The D-Day invasion

The Richfield Historical Society will hold its first TakeMeBack Series presentation for this year on Sunday, April 16, at 2 p.m., at Richfield Fellowship Hall. Dr. Gary Domanick will present “Keeping Our History Alive: The D-day Invasion and What It Means now!"

He will discuss the significance of the U.S. and its Allies liberating Europe from Nazi Germany and how the invasion planning started and was altered to best achieve the goals of this historic mission. There will be handouts and invasion maps to review. Domanick will also talk about the D-Day reenactment that takes place each August in Conneaut, Ohio, and he’ll share insights from historians, actors and those who lived it personally.

No reservations are required for this free program, which is open to the public. Call 330-659-4750 for additional information and check the Society’s website, richfieldohiohistoricalsociety.org, for event updates. ∞
