Superintendent’s Corner

As the leaves begin to turn and put on their best performance with vivid colors, Revere is doing the same. We continue to change, grow and move forward, and our students are thriving right along with us. There is so much to be proud of, and I’d like to share a few of our brightest moments.

I am excited about the continued progress reflected in this year’s state report card. Revere Local Schools remains a five-star district, with our progress rating improving from three to four stars. Our gap closing and graduation rate measures continue to earn five stars as well.

I am also proud to see our performance index increase for the fifth consecutive year, rising from 101.2 in 2021 to 106.8 this year. This success is a direct reflection of the hard work, passion and partnership of our students, dedicated staff and supportive families.

While we are proud of these accomplishments, our work does not stop here. We remain focused on ensuring students continue to grow, thrive and reach their full potential.

Last month, I shared that seven Revere seniors were named semifinalists in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program. This month, I am excited to share that seven additional seniors have been recognized as Commended Students, bringing the total to 14 Revere seniors recognized through this year’s program. Congratulations to Christopher Morel, Ethan Douglas, Frederick (Quin) Albrecht, Clara Rauschert, Sierra Slaven, Avery Keisling and Madison Hollister.

Adding to this exciting news, Ethan Douglas, a French horn player in the Revere Marching Band, has been selected for the Ohio Music Education Association All-State Band and will perform at the OMEA State Conference in January 2027. What a tremendous honor.

One of my favorite things about Revere is our incredible community and the way our schools and community come together. Our annual Veterans Day breakfast and program is a beautiful example of that connection. (See Coming Events in this magazine for more information about the program.) I encourage all veterans to join us at Revere High School. This year’s keynote speaker will be retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. T.J. Lowe.

Veterans may register by contacting Debbie Zendlo at 330-523-3202 or dzendlo@revereschools.org.

There is so much to celebrate at Revere, and I am grateful for everyone who helps make our district a place where Every. Student. Thrives.
