Superintendent receives Exemplary Leadership Award

The Highland Local School District has announced that Superintendent Catherine Aukerman is the 2026 recipient of the Exemplary Educational Leadership Award for Region 3 from the Buckeye Association of School Administrators, Ohio’s statewide professional association for school administrators.

The award recognizes Aukerman’s “exemplary educational leadership and contributions to enhancing, improving, and expanding educational opportunities for students at both the elementary and secondary levels in the Highland Local Schools and across Ohio.”

Aukerman said she is honored to represent Highland Local Schools and recognizes the collective efforts of Highland’s dedicated staff, students, families and community, whose shared commitment helps create meaningful educational experiences for every student.
