Trustee’s Corner
Thank you for responding to the Hinckley Township Future Planning Survey! The planning committee has begun the tabulation of the raw data and we are looking to partner with a local university for tabulation and analysis as well. We are very excited to discover the results and share that information with you as soon as it is available.
This is a foundational step in helping current and future trustees and zoning commissions craft language that reflects the desire of the residents regarding topics like residential and business development, land use, public services and a variety of other issues that face our township in forming our next comprehensive plan.
With summer over, the road repair and mowing season will quickly transition to the snow removal and salting season. Earlier this year, the township took delivery of a new plow/salt truck to better maintain the township’s roads. The Hinckley Service Department does an excellent job maintaining the miles of roads for which we are responsible.
As a township, our roads are comprised of Ohio state routes, Medina County roads, township roads and Cleveland Metroparks roads. Each of those entities has responsibility for roadways in their jurisdiction. Responsibilities range from road maintenance and snow removal to repair and replacement. More specifically, the Ohio Department of Transportation (330-723-0091) maintains state Route 303, state Route 3/94 and state Route 606; the Medina County Highway Department (330-764-8780) maintains Mattingly Road west of Ridge Road, Stony Hill Road north of 303, Boston Road (state Route 13), State Road (state Route 44), W. 130th Street, Ledge Road east of Ridge Road and Bellus Road between state Route 606 and State Road; Cleveland Metroparks (330-278-4544) maintains all roadways within the Hinckley Reservation, excluding State Road; and the Hinckley Service Department (330-225-2276) maintains all remaining roadways and subdivisions, including Stony Hill south of state Route 303, Mattingly Road east of Ridge Road and Bellus Road west of state Route 606 and east of State Road.
Remember that Nov. 3 is voting day.
