Longwood Manor holds fall-themed events

Oct 17

The Longwood Manor Historical Society will be celebrating the upcoming spooky season with events at Longwood Manor, the home of the first mayor of Macedonia, Col. William Frew Long, at 1634 E. Aurora Rd. in Macedonia.

Longwood Manor, in conjunction with Macedonia Parks and Recreation’s Trunk or Treat, takes a different style in celebrating Halloween this year as it presents “Skeletons Galore Around the First Floor.”

This free event is Saturday, Oct. 17, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and open to kids of all ages. Is Longwood Manor haunted? Well, a lady ghost has been spotted in the upstairs windows.

The manor’s final open house for the year will be Sunday, Oct. 25, from 1-4 p.m. The historical society features tours of the manor house and gives the history of Longwood Manor and its former owner, Col. Long. The second floor is also open for tours.
