If there is one month that captures the spirit of Richfield, it is August.

The month begins with another outstanding Concert on the Green as Wishgarden takes the stage on August 2, followed by our annual Community Days celebration from Aug. 7 through 9. From the Friday evening parade, food and live entertainment, the Saturday Steak Fry to Sunday’s family activities with games, food vendors and spectacular fireworks display, Community Days reminds us why so many people are proud to call Richfield home. This year’s celebration is especially meaningful as it also recognizes our nation’s 250th anniversary.

The celebration continues on as August 16 as the Barbara Rosene Big Band debuts on the Village Green. Barbara and her talented musicians always deliver an unforgettable evening, featuring timeless classics from the Great American Songbook. It is the perfect way to bring another successful summer concert season to a close.

These events don’t happen by accident. They are made possible by countless volunteers, community organizations, Village staff, first responders, sponsors, and local businesses who dedicate their time and resources to creating memorable experiences for all of us. Their commitment is one of Richfield’s greatest strengths.

As summer begins to wind down, I encourage everyone to take advantage of these opportunities to gather as a community. Bring your family to a concert, cheer on the parade, enjoy great food, visit with neighbors, and stay for the fireworks. These are the traditions that connect generations and create lasting memories.
