Twinsburg Historical Society

Jul13

9:00am - 3:00pm

The Twinsburg Historical Society Barn Sale is on Saturday, July 13, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The proceeds will be added to the Moses Roach House fund. Members can shop early on Friday, July 12. Non-members can join the historical society that night and enjoy the preview sale.

Special items include bricks and auditorium chairs salvaged from the Old School and a tool chest for a pickup truck bed, an 8-foot snowplow blade and other items retrieved from the Blue Jaye Farm. We have a Brickman charcoal smoker grill, a black hall tree with bench, dishes, toys and much more. We will be updating this list on our Facebook page as the donations roll in.

We still need donations. We welcome toys, glassware, kitchen items, flatware, knick-knacks and artwork. Tired of your Christmas decorations? That old tree might be too big for your new condo but it might be just right for someone else. We cannot accept clothes, shoes, books, magazines or records. Electronics must be in working condition. All items should be clean and in good condition. Donations are tax deductible and forms will be available for tax purposes. We will take donations on Monday, July 1, 9 a.m.-12 p.m., and Wednesday, July 10, 4-6 p.m.

We still need more help. As we post our events and pleas for help could you repost them on your media sites? Call your neighbors who might be interested. The best networking is word of mouth. In these days of social media things are always changing. If you know of a popular posting place, please share with us, too. We are always looking for help.

As we get deeper into summer, we will need help working on our wonderful buildings. There are many opportunities for every age. Keep checking our website and Facebook page.

Visit us often. We are constantly posting pictures, and we love to see pictures from you. We can digitalize pictures you would like to share, too. President Andy will take great care to return everything as you sent it. We are open the last Sunday of every month. Come and find out how you can be more involved.

Wouldn’t it be great if people joined the historical society when they liked us on Facebook? Membership is the lifeline for our organization. These contributions keep our doors open and the lights on. We accept credit cards, and you can join online. What could be easier than PayPal? What a great gift idea for someone who has moved away.

Remember we have our special Twins Days open house on Friday, Aug. 2. The twins would love to meet the locals. Come in and be the first to grab some great photos and spread the pride.
