Tree lighting and Santa drive-thru

Independence’s annual tree lighting and Santa drive-thru event returns Dec. 2 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in Elmwood Park and the Kiwanis Pavilion. The event will feature light displays, Mrs. Claus, a live animal Nativity scene, ice carver, fireworks and a Christmas market which includes evergreen wreaths, ornaments, spruce trees and chocolate. Food and beverage trucks will be on site. Resident children ages 12 and under can register online or call 216-524-7373 before Nov. 27 to receive a stocking at the Santa drive-thru. ∞
