Run to the Sun 5K

The Bath Parks Board is hosting its annual “Run to the Sun 5K” on Friday, June 16, from 7-8:30 p.m. The race begins in Bath Community Park, 1615 N. Cleveland-Massillon Rd., and winds through Bath Nature Preserve along the park’s Solar System Walk and back. The last 2 kilometers of the race include a scale representation of the solar system, with each step equal to about 2 million miles in space.

Registration is $25 and ends June 14. Register at runsignup.com/Race/OH/Akron/RuntotheSun5k. Awards will be given to the top three female and male finishers.

The observatory in the Bath Nature Preserve will be open afterwards if the skies are clear. Telescopes will be available after 9:30 p.m.
