Richfield Heritage Preserve: Hidden History Hike (Oct. 6)
Oct. 6
Hidden history hike
The Friends of Richfield Heritage Preserve are holding a “Hidden History of RHP” hike at Richfield Heritage Preserve on Sunday, Oct. 6, from 2-4 p.m.
Discover how the land itself retains evidence of its changing past from the Oviatt and Kirby farms, to Camp Julia Crowell, to Richfield Heritage Preserve. Friends’ historian Lynn Richardson will guide attendees on a slow-paced, one-mile loop hike – including some hilly terrain.
This free hike will be held rain or shine so dress for the weather. Suitable hiking footwear, insect repellant and a reusable water bottle are recommended. Attendees should use the 3771 Oviatt Rd. park entrance and meet by the kiosk near Kirby’s Mill.
Although walk-ins are welcome, attendees are asked to RSVP at eventbrite.com/e/2024-history-hike-tickets-1002627244077. For additional information and event updates, visit the Friend’s website at friendsofrhp.org. ∞
