Music from the Western Reserve

Music from the Western Reserve launches its 42nd season on Sunday, Sept. 8, featuring feature performers Perry Roth and Dr Hana Chu. Roth, a saxophonist, is on the faculties at Kent State University’s Hugh A. Glauser School of Music, the College of Wooster and the Hartt School Community Division at the University of Hartford. He is an accomplished solo artist, chamber musician and educator. He holds the tenor saxophone chair in the Barkada Quartet, which he joined in the spring of 2017.

Perry is joined on this program by Chu, an acclaimed soloist and collaborative pianist, who has graced stages throughout North America, South America, the Middle East and Korea, performing with many distinguished artists. Renowned for her versatility and artistry, Chu is highly sought after for her numerous collaborations, showcasing her diverse artistic scope as a chamber musician.

The concert will be held at Christ Church Episcopal, 21 Aurora St., and begins at 5 p.m., with a pre-concert talk beginning at 4:30 p.m. A reception and wine tasting will follow. Tickets can be purchased at musicwr.org/season for $30 per person. Students are always admitted free.
