Barns of Bath Trolley Tour
Enjoy a captivating journey through history with the Barns of Bath Trolley Tour. Celebrate the iconic barns that are not only integral to the local landscape but have also been designated Ohio’s official historic architectural structures. These majestic barns have played a crucial role in the agricultural development of our nation and stand as enduring symbols of our heritage.
The tour takes place on Sunday, Sept. 22, starting with a special visit to the Western Reserve Playhouse between noon and 12:45 p.m. Here, you’ll have the chance to explore the backstage dressing rooms, costume and props area.
At 1 p.m., the trolleys will set off along the Heritage Barns of Bath trail, offering views of over 25 barns and engaging visits with eight historical farmers. An intermission at the Bath Township Museum and tool barn will provide refreshments and a restroom break. The tour will conclude back at the Western Reserve Playhouse around 3 p.m.
The tour will transport you to the picturesque valley where Bath Township's founders originally settled in 1810. Relive Bath’s agricultural beginnings with pioneer settlers Andrew Hale and Jason Hammond, and journey through time to the blacksmith’s barn in historic Ghent.
Witness the transformation of a restored cattle barn into an ecological center, and explore contemporary barns built by industrial scion William O’Neil and gentleman farmer Dr. James Lemmon. Each stop along the way offers a glimpse into the past and present of Bath Township's rich agricultural history.
Tickets are limited to 60 passengers, and can be purchased for $25 at bathtownship.recdesk.com or in person at the Bath Township Administration office. ∞
