Superintendent’s Corner

As we move through the winter months, there is much to celebrate in our school district. Our students continue to achieve great things both in and out of the classroom, and I am proud to share some exciting updates with our community.

At Bath Elementary School, students are making the most of the winter season by enjoying sled riding during recess. This beloved tradition brings joy to our young learners, providing them with an opportunity to embrace the season, stay active and create lasting memories with their classmates. I love this experience for our students and have not seen this happening at any other school that I have been to. I hope to join the students someday.

Meanwhile, our high school students are excelling in academic competitions. Our Mock Trial team involving 12 students won both of their regional tournaments at the Summit County Court of Common Pleas, and have qualified for the state tournament from March 6-8 at the Franklin County Courthouse and the Ohio Supreme Court. These students have demonstrated outstanding skill and teamwork as they prepared to participate on either side of the case. We wish them the best of luck as they represent our district on a prestigious stage.

The Revere Speech and Debate team is also making history, with 20 competitors advancing to the state finals held in Austintown Feb. 28–March 1, setting a new record. This achievement showcases the commitment and talent of our students, and the support and guidance provided by their coaches. We are incredibly proud of their success and look forward to seeing them perform at the highest level.

The competitive cheer team competed at the region qualifiers in a tough division in February, and qualified for the state competition. As this column is being written, this squad of ten is heading to the OASSA State Cheer Championship at Big Walnut High School and our other winter athletic teams are heading into tournaments.

Finally, we are excited to welcome our incoming kindergarteners and their families. Children who turn 5 by Aug. 1, 2025, are eligible to enroll in kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year.

A few important dates to remember: Curious About Kindergarten – March 5 and March 6; Kindergarten Registration – March 18-19; Kindergarten Screening – April 30 and May 1.

These opportunities allow families to learn more about our programs, meet our dedicated educators and ensure a smooth transition for our youngest learners. We look forward to meeting our future students and their families as they take this important step in their educational journey.

Finally, I would like to invite our community to attend the State of the Schools address on Tuesday, April 1, in the Revere auditorium, beginning at 6 p.m. Our district is filled with remarkable students, dedicated educators and supportive families. Thank you for being a part of our school community and celebrating these achievements with us.
