To the Editor:

Now in its second year, Discover Bath Barns, established by Bath Township as a program of the Heritage Corridors of Bath Committee, was created to help guide willing private and public barn owners to preserve their heritage barns. The rustic charm and weathered exteriors of these structures are part of our shared history and what helps define Bath Township’s beautiful rolling landscape and rural residential character.

Recently, the Bath Community Fund recognized our efforts to put a spotlight on Bath’s heritage barns with a grant in support of our newly created Heritage Barns of Bath Trail. The grant will provide permanent signage at the Heritage Corridors of Bath Wayside Exhibit about the history of barns in our community and invite visitors to drive the 19-mile Heritage Barns of Bath Trail.

On behalf of Discover Bath Barns and Bath Township, I would like to extend our tremendous appreciation to the Bath Community Fund of Akron Community Foundation for its support. The new sign will be installed this spring. I encourage everyone to make time to visit the Wayside Exhibit and drive the trail. I’m confident you’ll find joy in seeing and experiencing these iconic barns in Bath.
