Eagle Scout improves Mable Smith shelter
Preston Martelon, a member of Boy Scout Troop 810, recently completed his Eagle Scout project at Richfield Heritage Preserve. Martelon installed railings around three sides of the Mable Smith shelter and built wider steps and handrails. He learned how to properly measure and cut boards and how different types of fasteners are needed for various applications. He learned how to work with the curvature of the boards. His family and troop assisted him.
Martelon camped at the park many times over the past seven years and wanted to give back to the park. ∞
