Purposeful Growth and Wellness brings growing practice to Brecksville
by Emily Canning-Dean
When Sarah Saunders began looking for a larger space for her mental wellness private practice, Purposeful Growth and Wellness, Brecksville seemed like the ideal spot.
“Brecksville is such a beautiful community and just a very friendly and supportive environment,” said Saunders, who officially moved to her new location at 8748 Brecksville Rd., on Aug. 5. “It’s also just a great location because we can serve clients from the west side as well as Hudson and Medina, Northfield, Richfield and Broadview Heights.”
As a licensed professional clinical counselor, Saunders has worked in the field for more than a decade.
“I have always had a passion for the way humans live in the world and the best ways to support them in different stages and seasons of their lives,” Saunders said. “I previously worked in two wonderful practices, one in Westlake and one in Rocky River. But after becoming a mom of four boys, I knew I needed more flexibility and needed to be my own boss.”
Saunders said she signed the lease on a “wonderful” space in Broadview Heights one week before the stay-at-home order went into effect due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I had two toddlers at the time and was seven months pregnant, so I started working out of a closet in my basement with a computer and would support my clients remotely,” she said. “I was very happy to be supporting people through this health crisis. By May of 2021, we were able to open the doors at the Broadview Heights location and I brought in another therapist. Since then, we have grown and now there are three therapists, plus myself, and we are looking to bring in more therapists now that we are in this new space.”
Saunders said PGW is accepting new clients, including individuals and families, and said the firm also works with senior business leaders in the community hosting workshops and offering other services. The firm offers individual, couples and family therapy as well as parent coaching.
Saunders said the firm is private-pay and does not accept insurance, however, some clients might be eligible for insurance reimbursement.
“We know how much red tape is associated with insurance and the way we operate we feel we are better able to provide better quality of care for our clients,” she said.
Saunders said anyone interested in services at PGW can contact the firm via their website purposefulgrowthandwellness.com and send a message. She said someone will respond within 24 to 48 hours. Potential clients can also call 440-201-4467 to make an appointment.
“We also offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can better understand what clients are looking for and match them to a clinician who is going to be best for them,” she said.
PGW’s website also includes a blog and clients can learn more about the firm on the Purposeful Growth and Wellness Facebook page. ∞
