The iconic Veterans Memorial Bridge in Cleveland will be open for two upcoming dates for “Take a Hike Tours.” Knowledgeable guides will take hikers along the streetcar level, from West 9th to West 25th streets, to be greeted by actors dressed as historical Clevelanders with stories of the city’s past.
The Take a Hike Walking Tours will take place on Sunday, Aug. 11 and Sept. 8. The tours will be held at 1 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. Registration is required at takeahikecle.com.
“The Veterans Memorial Bridge, a symbol of connection and unity, has long been admired for its stunning design. Cuyahoga County invites residents and visitors to discover this architectural gem and the beauty of the surrounding region,” said Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne. “This year’s Rediscover Veterans Memorial Bridge event is where history and art intertwine. The tours provide a unique opportunity to explore the area’s rich history and envision the limitless potential of the bridge’s lower level.
