Richfield Community Day set for Aug. 11

The annual Richfield Community Day, sponsored by Bath-Richfield Kiwanis, takes place Saturday, Aug. 11, at Richfield Woods Park, starting at 1 p.m. It will feature the usual fun activities, food, inflatables, trackless train rides, Euclid Beach Rocket Car, beverages and nonprofit booths.

The event will include many new activities such as face painting by Making Faces, a photo booth and Neo Bubble Soccer, in which people play soccer while rolling around inside inflatable balls.

Bring your best frog, or borrow one from Kiwanis, for the annual frog jump contest. Sign up starts at 1 pm. in the lower pavilion.

The pie contest, with two categories – fruit and other – will be held on the dance floor at 3:30 p.m. with two age groups – adult and under 15 years old. Cream pies may not be entered. All bakers must be present with their pies.

Food both sweet and salty will be available for purchase from Da Dog House, Judy’s Concessions, Raks BBQ, Bessie’s Best Ice Cream and Sweet Swirls. Grilled corn and Mexican corn will also be available.

Enjoy a beverage at the AMVETStent and sign up to play horseshoes. Stop and see the BHA Riding Academy and catch a ride in their horse drawn carriage.

Visit the raffle tent to see prizes and grand prizes you could win. Kiwanis is raffling an electric bike with only 200 tickets to be sold.

Tap your feet or dance to this year’s bands: Richfield Circus, Roadhouse Band and Long Time Gone.

The day ends with a fireworks show at dark. ∞
