New agent looks forward to serving community

For new State Farm agent Jay Springer, who opened his business July 1 in the ScripType Building at 4300 W. Streetsboro Rd., it’s all about building relationships with clients and the community.
After considering a number of different locations, the North Royalton resident decided to make Richfield his new business home.
“When I drive through Richfield, I absolutely love the village and what they’re doing with it,” said Springer. “I love the historical aspect and the upkeep of it. When I drove by and saw that this office was available, as soon as I pulled in and saw all the trees back in here, it just had a good feel about it. And it’s very quiet.”
Springer, who previously held a number of upper management positions with two large pet retail chains for a number of years, relocated from Columbus to Northeast Ohio in 2008. He grew weary of working in an industry that required him to travel frequently and be away from family.
“When this opportunity presented itself, both State Farm and I did an enormous amount of due diligence, and I felt it was the right time and place and the right profession for me to pursue,” he said.
As a registered financial planner, Springer said the line of financial products offered by State Farm – in addition to a full line of insurance products – was what attracted him most to the company.
“We offer a full line of financial services from 401k rollovers, IRAs, mutual funds, 529 plans and other products,” he said. “Also, all personal insurance products – home, auto and boat, along with business and commercial products. We also offer life and health products; we’re a one-stop shop.”
The office staff includes Springer’s wife, Amanda, who is his marketing specialist, along with two additional insurance agent team members, Katelyn Thur and Richard Delinger. Springer is the only staff member registered to provide financial products and services.
“We are a big insurance company with a hometown feel,” said Springer. “We bring into a community a personalized service and agency that is dedicated and designed to be in the community. My mission is to be a part of any and all community programs and activities that I can.”
Since opening the new business, Springer has looked into joining the Richfield Chamber of Commerce and the Bath-Richfield Kiwanis Club, and becoming involved with community activities.
“I generally don’t talk about myself a lot, but rather about my team and family – I’m a big family guy,” Springer said. “We just want to be part of the community as much as we can; it’s all about connecting with people. I want to show individuals and businesses everything that State Farm has to offer, while establishing a personalized service and agency that is engrained in the community.” ∞
