Columbia Gas to construct new line at Boston Road

May 2 township trustees meeting

A Columbia Gas representative presented a gas line replacement project to township trustees at their May 2 meeting.

Ben Cutler, director of public affairs for Columbia Gas, explained that Columbia’s contract with North Coast Gas Transmission for gas at its Boston Road point of delivery station will expire in February 2024. The gas drawn from this delivery station is used for supplemental purposes when the temperature reaches below 10 degrees.

The line, Cutler said, is not a residential tie-in line. It serves approximately 2,400 residents across Brunswick, Hinckley and North Royalton.

North Coast Gas intends to use its facilities for other purposes, necessitating Columbia to install a new line, Cutler said. ∞
