AMVETS parade and Kiwanis breakfast set for Memorial Day weekend

Richfield AMVETS Post 176 will head up the commemoration of Memorial Day on May 29. Starting at 7:45 a.m., they will place a wreath at Fairview Cemetery. They will lead the annual parade to West Richfield Cemetery at 9:45.

All members of the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Brownies, Cub Scouts, Revere Youth Football Associates, Masons, fire department, police department, AMVETS, Sons of AMVETS, the AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary and any veterans who would like to march are welcome to do so.

The parade will assemble at 9:30 a.m. at the Richfield Historical Society and march to West Richfield Cemetery on Broadview Road, where a service will be held.

The parade and assembly will be canceled if it is raining.

Pancakes and sausage

The Kiwanis Memorial Weekend Community Breakfast will be Sunday and Monday, May 28-29, at the Richfield Masonic Hall, 4586 W. Streetsboro Rd., from 8 a.m.-noon. On Memorial Day the breakfast will be served before and after the parade.

Tickets for the sausage and pancake breakfast are $8. Tickets for kids 5-12 are $5, and those four and under eat free. For more information visit bathrichfieldkiwanis.org.

The breakfast will be available at the door for eat-in or takeout.

The Revere Key Club members will hold a plant sale outside of the hall. The Revere Key Club is sponsored by the Bath-Richfield Kiwanis. ∞
