Superintendent’s Column

The fine arts are an extremely important component of the educational experience here at  Revere. We are proud of the opportunities that are provided for our students to participate in and develop their talents. In the next few months, there are a plethora of events that take place in our schools that we want to share with our community and invite their attendance and participation.

Get ready for the extraordinary production by the Revere Players of “Mamma Mia!” Experience this musical in our new high school. “Mamma Mia!” runs from Thursday, April 20-Saturday, April 22, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 23, at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $13 for adults and $8 for students/seniors if purchased online through revereschools.org/domain/943. At the door, tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students/seniors, cash only sales.

The Celebration of the Arts, sponsored by Revere PTAs, will take place May 8-11, 6:30-8:30 p.m. each evening in our high school auxiliary gym. This event showcases Pre-K through grade 12 artwork, student performances and senior art booths. Awards are presented for various categories. Come experience the artistry of our students.

Also, many art pieces created by our students are now on display at Ocelot Cafe and Bakery in Richfield. Visit Ocelot and thank them for their partnership and experience our students’ art.

The Revere Orchestras are presenting their final concert of the year on May 9 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Each group of students will showcase the techniques and music they have learned throughout the year. The final show-stopping song of the evening will feature the combined grades 4-12. Join us for this exciting evening of music.

The Revere Choirs will close the year with concerts in May, including our spring choral concert on May 2, at 7 p.m., and the RMS spring choral concert on May 23, at 7 p.m., both in the RHS auditorium. “The Joy of Music” Parish Arts Concert, featuring our high school chorale, Copley, and Firestone, will take place on May 7 at 4 p.m. at Fairlawn Lutheran Church.

The RHS band concert and award ceremony/recognition will be held on Thursday, May 4, at 7 p.m. at the RHS auditorium. The wind ensemble, symphonic and jazz bands will perform and students will be recognized at an awards program. The Revere Music Parent Association award, Debbie Herman Band scholarship winners and the Roussi, Cernik, Godard, Sousa, and Armstrong awards will be announced.

Our high school band will also participate in the Richfield and Bath Memorial Day services on Monday, May 29, beginning at 10 a.m.

As always, the spring months will be extremely exciting in Revere. Please join us in celebrating the arts and enjoy the talents of our incredible students. These programs are another example of what makes the student experience within Revere so special.
