Township ups it CLOUT membership

Nov. 14 trustees meeting

Sagamore Hills Township renewed its annual membership in the Coalition of Large Ohio Urban Townships.

Formed in 1994, CLOUT is open to townships with populations of 15,000 residents or more in an unincorporated area or with a budget of at least $3 million. Annual dues cost the township $200. The organization began as a forum for similarly sized townships to discuss problems, issues and ideas, and provide input to the Ohio Township Association. The Ohio Township Association dates back to 1928, and represents townships across the state as an advocate to the General Assembly.

Trustees approved the zoning commission’s proposed change to the township zoning code regarding garages. The maximum size allowed for attached garages is now 1,200 square feet, and each new garage construction requires a second door as an exit in addition to the main overhead door.

Trustees hired Greg Foth for part-time seasonal work to help the roads department with snowplowing this winter. ∞
