Township Corner

I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays!  The township is finishing 2022 in good shape. Trustees are interviewing zoning board candidates and will fill the remaining vacancies with qualified residents. We also are speaking with prospects who are interested in serving on the Richfield Joint Recreation District Board. Most of the current members on all boards, whose terms end this year, are planning to remain. We are grateful to have talented and dedicated residents volunteering their time to keep Richfield Township a top livable community. Many thanks to the board members.

Our service department will be fully staffed for the winter months and will continue to provide excellent snow plowing and road maintenance. I appreciate the great work that our administrative, zoning, service team and fiscal officer have done throughout the year – especially as we returned to normal operations after the lengthy pandemic.

2023 will be a year of modernizing and updating township processes and codes to make it more efficient for residents, businesses and our employees. Some examples are online credit card processing, digitizing records and defining zoning terms, so they are clear. Trustees will also review our major contracts and levies, looking for opportunities to reduce costs.

Wishing you and yours a healthy and prosperous New Year. ∞
