Mayor’s Corner

The Holiday Season is upon us.  I wish everyone a very merry and happy holiday season.  If you are traveling to another destination for the holidays, please drive safely and sanely.

I thank council, department heads and all of our employees for staying under budget and helping to make the Village of Richfield an awesome place to live. I congratulate Randy Shero on completing 44 years of service to the village, Joanne Maupin for completing 38 years, and Bruce Butler, Gretchen Gilbert and Jeff Michel for completing over 31 years of service. They all continue to serve the village.

I congratulate Robert Gaydosh who retired on October 1, 2022. Officer Gaydosh is a Padua High School graduate; he attended the University of Akron where he studied criminal justice and is a graduate of the University of Akron Police Academy. Officer Gaydosh began his employment with the village on May 15, 2000. He has served our community for over 22 years and was the department range instructor for decades.  Over all he has served as a police officer for over 26 years. We will miss him and we wish him all the best in his retirement.

The Cleveland Water project on Route 303 and Broadview roads should be done by the end of the year and temporary paving completed by mid-December. Although this is not a village project we continue to monitor the street for quality and request repairs as needed.

The village will be collecting donation items for the holidays until December 15 to help the Battered Women’s Shelter. Please see our website for details.
