Crawford-Smith named Highland Communications Director

The Highland School District has named Kelli Crawford-Smith as its new director of communications.

She replaces Dawn Marzano who recently accepted a position outside of the district after 14 years of service. Crawford-Smith began her new role Oct. 10.

Crawford-Smith is the former director of Neighborhood Excellence, Communications and Community Outreach for the City of Cuyahoga Falls. Prior to that, she worked at Summit County Juvenile Court and the Summit County Executive’s Office. She is also a former member of Akron City Council.

Crawford-Smith obtained her MBA from Tiffin University with a concentration in leadership and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business and organizational communication from the University of Akron.

“We are pleased to have Kelli joining the Highland School District. Her broad background and expertise in communications, marketing and community relations will allow for a smooth transition into this important role,” stated Superintendent Catherine Aukerman. “We are committed to providing accurate and timely information to all stakeholders regarding our students, programs, schools and district while continuing to explore strategies that will broaden our reach and communication effectiveness. We welcome Kelli to the Highland administrative team and look forward to working with her.”

Crawford-Smith and her family reside in Cuyahoga Falls. ∞
