Top Dog essay contest open through Nov. 14

The 28th Annual Top Dog Essay Contest for all fourth-grade students in Medina County kicks off for the dog-licensing season, which begins Dec. 1. The contest is open to all public, private and home-schooled children who reside in Medina County.

Students can submit only one essay of 300 words or less (solely written by them) about why they think a particular dog is the Top Dog in Medina County. The dog does not have to be owned by the writer.

Entrants are eligible for prizes for their dog, themselves and one of the first dog tags for 2023.

All entries must be received in the Medina County Auditor’s Office by Monday, Nov. 14.  They will be judged by a panel of staff members in the auditor’s office.
