Medina County Arts Council has announced that it will once again offer funding for Medina County teachers interested in providing arts-related projects for their students.
The grants will be awarded for projects in music, visual art, theater, dance and language arts, but are not limited to those areas. Funding is intended to aid teachers with providing innovative and substantive projects that might be outside of their principal’s budget, including supplies or fees for services. The grants are not intended to pay for regular classroom materials or fund routine assignments.
Examples of projects worthy of funding hiring guest musicians to perform in the classroom, paying for art supplies for a new or experimental project or purchasing scripts needed for special performances. While there is no funding limit for each grant, grants awarded in the past have averaged approximately $400 each.
The deadline for grant submission is Monday, Oct. 31, and funding will be awarded in January 2023. Projects funded by these grants must be completed by June 30, 2023.
