Trustees Corner

by Monique Marzullo-Ascherl

October is absolutely my favorite month of the year. Have you gotten your pumpkin spice latte yet?

September was a month of adjustment as trustees’ schedules changed and we launched the updated website. The trustees will not hold work sessions in the month of October because of these new schedules. Beginning in November, work sessions will be held in the evening on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month.

The annual Kimble letter has been sent to all residents and contains pertinent information about 2023 trash service. I was just informed that there will be a new fuel surcharge added into the November bills. We will not know the amount until Nov. 1. As a reminder, if you have a question regarding your Kimble service or bill, please contact Kimble directly at 800-201-0005.

The board of trustees began discussions in September of possible uses for the ARPA Grant. Several ideas were discussed, including converting township buildings to solar power; running Medina County water to the fire and service departments, or to the center of town; replenishing aquifers where they are failing or investing the money in road repairs. These discussions will continue into October.

The updated website is now up and running. Take a look at the new and improved site, www.hinckleytwp.org You can now easily print out commonly used forms and save yourself a trip to town hall. The website is now ADA compliant and easier to navigate. If you miss a meeting, no problem. You can now view all township meetings on YouTube on the Hinckley Township, Ohio page. The meetings are also posted on the website under the YouTube tab.

I look forward to seeing all the children dressed up for Halloween at the annual trick-or-treat in the center of town. ∞
