Mayor’s Corner

It’s October and Halloween is just around the corner. As a reminder our Monday, Oct. 31 Halloween parade gathers at the Old Town Hall at 5:30 pm and steps off at exactly 5:45 p.m. where we will walk to the fire station for lots of goodies and fun. Trick or Treat hours will be 6-8 p.m.

Please welcome Daytona Stieglemeyer to the position of full-time fire medic.

The home at 4102 Apple Ridge Drive was destroyed by fire on Sept. 10. The cause of the fire, which started on the outside of the house, could not be determined. The owners were outside and could only watch their home go up in flames. Neighbors quickly set up a lemondade/cookie stand near the property and collected donations for the couple. We had a fire at one of our residences on Saturday, Sept. 10. The homeowner called 911 to report the fire. Less than 6 minutes after the call came in our fire department was on scene. The fire was under control within 30 minutes. In addition to our department, Valley Fire, Granger, Broadview Heights, Hinckley and Brecksville helped extinguish the fire and monitored the site for several hours. Our dispatch, fire and police departments did an outstanding Job. We are so blessed to have this level of service and protection.

Please check out our website at richfieldvillageohio.org for up-to-date information regarding the different programs and projects underway in the village.
