Wayback Burgers opens on Aurora Road

Wayback Burgers, 463 E. Aurora Road, Suite 250, in Macedonia officially opened its doors on Aug. 13.

Raj Patel, franchise owner, said he chose the location because there were not many burger restaurants in Macedonia, and he and his wife travel to the area often to eat or see a movie.

Patel is a franchisee of a few gas stations and convenience stores, but this is his first food-related venture.

“I wanted to do something different,” he said. “My cousin franchised Wayback Burgers in Pennsylvania and I said, ‘Let me see if that works for me.’”

The restaurant offers signature burgers, build your own burgers, sandwiches, chicken and milkshakes, according to the company website.

Patel said Wayback Burgers will offer limited-time burgers throughout the year with the October Fest burger featured in September. Also to come is a limited time S’mores milkshake.

The grand opening went well, according to Patel, and he said the restaurant sees new faces every day. Though numbers have dropped since school started, Patel said he feels it will get better.

“We want people to come back and, [we want it] to be the best burger place in town,” he said, adding that he is seeking employees.

Patel’s goal is for Wayback Burgers to partner for fundraising events with the community, the school district and other organizations. Fifteen percent of the proceeds from the grand opening went to Ride with Valor, a nonprofit that supports veterans and their families.

Patel said the restaurant recently received wine and beer license approval and plans to add alcohol with the possibility of tasting events. ∞
