Vote underway for county soil and water conservation board

Individuals who own or occupy land within the Summit County Soil and Water Conservation District and are 18 years of age or older may vote to select members of its board of supervisors. The two supervisors will be elected to a three-year term commencing Jan. 1 and ending December 31, 2025. Nominees are Ana Burns, Robert Curtis and Barry Ganoe.

There are three ways an eligible voter can cast a ballot:

  • At the SWCD office, 1180 S. Main St., Suite 241, in Akron, until Sept. 7, during normal business hours 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • At the SWCD annual meeting, which will take place at Sarah’s Vineyard, 1204 W. Steels Corners Rd., in Cuyahoga Falls on Sept. 8, from 1-2 p.m.
  • Absentee by requesting the ballot application and election ballot from the SWCD office, 1180 South Main St., Suite 241 in Akron, calling

330-926-2445 or emailing staff@summitoh.net. The SWCD office must receive absentee ballots before Sept. 8, at 8 a.m. Voters can only pick up absentee ballots for themselves and household members living at the same address. ∞
