Bees 8U baseball closes out championship season with league title

by Michelle Davis

The Brecksville Travel Baseball 8U team capped off its season with a 15-13 win over the top-ranked team from Olmsted Falls. Going into this game, the teams split their highly anticipated season series. However, the last time they played it did not go the Bees way and the young stingers had extra incentive to pull this one out. The Bees trailed by six runs late in the game but through solid pitching and timely hitting the rest of the way, they battled back to take the lead. This gritty collection of kids never wavered, stayed together throughout the adversity and achieved a well-earned victory. The win catapulted the Bees to the 8U champions of the Cuyahoga Valley Baseball Association.

The team closes with a 35-7 record with tournament championships at Lyndhurst 8U Open, Strongsville Memorial Day Open, Nordonia Bash and the aforementioned CVBA. The Bees were also able to pull in a runner-up finish at the North Royalton Bear Brawl. ∞
