Mayor’s Corner

I welcome John Piepsny as our new, shared park and recreation director. John comes to us with over 25 years of park and recreation experience. John will be an excellent addition to our outstanding staff.

I have been asked several times about the installation of a chain link fence around a tree on Broadview Road near the Library. We are constructing a new road to the library from Broadview Road and the fence is there to keep the equipment from inadvertently crushing the root system of the tree. As soon as construction is done the fence will be removed.

Through July 15, 2022, we collected $17,159,012 of the $36,063,345 budgeted for all funds revenue, or 47.6% of the budget. On the expenditure side, through July 15, we expended $18,173,405 overall or 40.8% of the $44,522,656 budgeted for expenditures. The expected rate through July should be approximately 58% of the budget being expended. Looking only at the general fund, 50.1% of the revenues have been collected and 51.8% of the budget was expended.
