Emily Serbinowski is a 2013 Nordonia High School grad and Cleveland State University Honors College 2017 graduate with a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry and Biology with a psychology minor. She graduated from the Toledo School of Medicine this year and has a residency in emergency medicine at the Medical College of Georgia, in Augusta. While an undergrad, Serbinowski received the Lubrizol Award and was on the NCAA Division I fencing team, advancing to regionals in saber, and received the most improved athlete award. While in medical school, she competed in nationals as a collegiate power lifter, and was third in her weight class. She also held the women’s raw bench record for Ohio. She’s been published many times, in various scientific journals. Upon graduation, Emily was also promoted to the rank of Captain in the U.S. Army. 

Drew Wilson, of Sagamore Hills, earned All-Region 7 honors under the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-America and All-Region 7 team as a Baldwin Wallace University baseball player. Wilson, who receives his first All-Region honor, has a batting average of .338 and an earned run average of 2.96. He has tallied 66 hits, 54 runs, 46 RBIs, 14 doubles, and five homeruns. On the mound, Wilson has pitched 48.2 innings (second on the team) and leads the team in wins with nine, which is also good for second in the OAC and ties the BW single season wins record.

He also leads the team in saves with four. Wilson has earned nine shutouts during his time on the mound this year, totaling 53 strikeouts and has only walked ten batters. In his career, Wilson has notched 129 hits, 90 runs, 89 RBIs, 36 doubles, two triples, and eight homeruns. From the mound, he has pitched 112 innings and earned 132 strikeouts. Wilson graduated from BW this spring with a Bachelor of Arts: Management and Innovation.

Nordonia High School alumna Juliet Penrod was named to the 2022 spring Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team. She is a sophomore women’s tennis player at Baldwin Wallace University majoring in digital marketing and Spanish. She earned a 3.846 GPA. In order to be selected as Academic All-OAC, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA. 

Bethany Ortlip, of Sagamore Hills, graduated from Cedarville University in spring 2022 with a Master of Science in Nursing.

Jacqueline Johnson, a marketing major from Sagamore Hills, was named to the President’s List at Coastal Carolina University for the spring 2022 semester. Students who made the President’s List have achieved a 4.0 grade point average during the semester.

Kate Crawford, from Sagamore Hills, graduated with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree in osteopathic medicine from Ohio University’s Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in spring 2022. Sagamore native Ryan Hoffman graduated with a BSN Baccalaureate Nursing from Ohio University’s College of Health Sciences and Professions in spring 2022.

Grace Renier, of Sagamore Hills, was named to the Dean’s List at Miami University for the spring 2022 semester.

The following college students from Sagamore Hills graduated from Baldwin Wallace University: Jay Coleman graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science: Psychology and Hospitality and Tourism Management. Ashley Matousek graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Exercise Science.
