Brecksville has been included among Cleveland Magazine’s top-20 Cleveland suburbs for 2022.

Brecksville ranked ninth in this year’s survey, behind Hudson, Bay Village, Solon, Orange Village, Moreland Hills, Pepper Pike, Rocky River and No. 1 Beachwood.

Other communities in the top 20 include Chagrin Falls, Highland Heights, Westlake, Bath Township, Avon, Shaker Heights, Avon Lake, Mayfield Village, Mayfield Heights, Broadview Heights and Middleburg Heights.

The survey notes that Brecksville kept its top-10 ranking this year “thanks in large part to a 10-year housing appreciation of 75.9%. But that’s not quite the whole story. This quiet suburb offers superb access to nature, downtown and both the east and west sides of town.”

Brecksville Mayor Jerry Hruby said he appreciates the work the magazine’s staff puts into the annual ranking of the suburbs.

“They spend so much time looking into the area,” he said. “I appreciate that they give the community the opportunity to see how they stack up to our fellow communities.”

Hruby gave credit to the community. “Much of the beauty in Brecksville is created by the businesses and residences themselves,” he said. “They are the ones who deserve the most in the way of the credit category for achieving this honor.”
