Mayor’s Corner

We are currently taking applications for the part-time positions in our service, dispatch, parks and recreation departments. The complete job descriptions and applications are available on our website.

The village is sponsoring four concerts this summer. The first of which was held June 24 on the Village Green. Please check the website for additional dates for the three in July.

Route 303 and Broadview Road will soon be excavated to allow for the new waterlines going into uptown Richfield.  Please allow addition travel time in that area.

Installation of the new technology in council chambers to allow in-person and live streaming meetings was finished in June so live-streaming will start this month.

Over the next couple months, all of our police officers are registered to attend mandatory training on the topics of implicit bias, as well as de-escalation, intervention and force mitigation.

We have had our first community health call out. Assistant Police Chief Paul Fister and Chief George Seifert went to the home of an elderly resident. We would like to thank Patti Horn and Officer Jeff Michel for going above their normal duties to help this resident out.

The service department continues to respond to normal and emergent work activities. Administratively, we continue to complete permitting, plan review, sewer billing, cemetery sales and burials, and responding to calls and emails.

Through June 7, 2022, we have collected $14,496,208 of the $33,418,074 budgeted for revenue, or 43.4% of the budget, and the expected rate is 43.3% through the first week of June. On the expenditure side, $13,563,987 was expended overall by the village through June 7, or 35.6% of the $38,163,420 budgeted for expenditures.
