April 30—During a traffic stop on Rockside Road, the driver failed to inform police he had a firearm in the vehicle after being asked. The gun was placed into a police evidence locker.

Officers arrested a female for prostitution at a Quarry Lane hotel.

May 1—Police were dispatched to a Rockside Woods Boulevard hotel for report of an unattended toddler in the hotel. A group of juveniles ages 14-16 along with the toddler were under the care of one woman staying in the hotel. The woman was cited for endangering children and Children and Family Services was called.

May 3—Officers recovered an abandoned vehicle at Granger Road, which was identified as stolen.

May 4—Police cited a driver for marijuana drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop on Quarry Lane.

May 7—A resident found a cell phone in the Hillside/Valley Woods area and turned it in to the Independence Police Department.

May 8—A guest reported theft of LCD computer monitors, a keyboard, guitar and a pelican case containing tools from his vehicle while parked at a Rockside Woods Boulevard hotel.

May 13—A woman was arrested for prostitution at a Quarry Lane hotel.

May 14—During a Rockside Road traffic stop, police found a handgun under the driver’s seat of the vehicle and two bags of suspected marijuana.

May 15—A reckless driver on I-480W was charged with an OVI, improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle and possession of drugs, which included marijuana and ecstasy.

May 17—Police were dispatched to a Rockside Woods Boulevard hotel for report of a guest experiencing an opiate-related overdose. Officers later located the guest’s boyfriend, who was issued a summons for attempted drug abuse for having suspected cocaine and clonidine, naloxone and sildenafil pills on his person.

May 19—Officers made a traffic stop on Rockside Road and found the passenger to have a warrant for carrying a concealed weapon. A firearm was found in the vehicle and the passenger was charged with improperly handling weapons in a motor vehicle and having weapons while under disability.

May 21—Police recovered a stolen vehicle parked at a Rockside Woods Boulevard North hotel.

May 23—A guest at a Quarry Lane hotel notified police of a bag of suspected methamphetamine in his room. He believed someone had planted the bag while he was out.

Six suspects stole snack items from a Rockside Place hotel totaling $250.

May 24—Police arrested a female for stealing from a Brecksville Road business. The woman is no longer allowed at the establishment.
