Nordonia High School senior Leah Jackson and sophomore Cailin Joyce took home cash prizes after their work was selected at this year’s second annual “Door #2” juried student art exhibit.

NHS student Sophie Heiser was accepted into The Cleveland Institute of Arts summer program for 3D Modeling for Inventive Design. Sophie will be taking AP Art next year as a senior.

Nordonia wrestlers Israel Petite, sophomore, and Jeremy Olszko, junior, competed in the OHSAA state tournament in March. Petite finished seventh in the state with an overall record of 32-9. Olszko placed fourth in the state with an overall record of 48-8.

The Nordonia Middle School Knight Rhythm a cappella group performed the “National Anthem” at the Cleveland Cavaliers basketball game on March 18.

CVCC Sports Medicine student Amanda Stanek, from Nordonia, took third place in Sports Medicine at the Ohio HOSA State Leadership Conference.

Nordonia successfully competed in its first regional for FRC Robotics. The group of four students finished 3-6 and ranked 53 out of 60 teams. They received the Rookie Inspiration Award at the Buckeye Regional.

Nordonia High School juniors Jeffrey Baloga Jr., Isabella Banks, Keiran Bell, Nicholas Chesser, Scott Coffman and Riley Thaxton along with seniors Hailey Cruz-Mondragon, Mark Hupcey and Nicholas Schaub were inducted into Cuyahoga Valley Career Center’s National Technical Honor Society.

Nordonia a cappella group Synergy’s recording of “Creep” by Radiohead was chosen to be on the Best of High School A Cappella 2022 National Compilation album. ∞
