Robert Francis Anelli and Dorothy Christine Milavec recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on April 29, 1972, at St. Pius X Church in Bedford, Ohio. Anelli was born in Brooklyn, New York, and later graduated from Collinwood High School in Cleveland, Ohio. Milavec was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from Hoban Dominican High School. The two met at Cleveland State University, where Anelli was studying to become an electrical engineer. Milavec received a degree in education and became a teacher. They have four children, Mary, Joseph (Brittni), Anne Marie, Anthony (Kristen), and several grandchildren including Sophia, Iris, June, Joseph, Aurora, Jensen, and Emma. The couple currently lives in Sagamore Hills and they are parishioners at St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Northfield.

Mason Mamich


Sagamore Hills resident and fifth-grader at Lee Eaton Elementary School, Mason Mamich, won the Division III, 80 lb. Ohio Grade School State Championship at the Covelli Center in Youngstown on March 26-27. He wrestles for the Walsh Warriors, a Walsh Jesuit High School program, and has been wrestling for five years. He won one of the eight district qualifier tournaments in which the top four athletes earn a place in the Ohio state tournament. 32 kids were in Mason’s bracket and he won five matches to become the state champ. Mason was undefeated during the season with a 29-0 record. Mason didn’t get taken down once at the state tournament and only gave up two points. In his five state matches, he had two pins, one tech fall, a major decision and a 3-2 victory in his finals match against a previous state champ from Delta who is on Team Ohio.

In April, Sagamore residents Ethan Tokarz and Aidan Sedor independently passed their Eagle Board of Review and are now full Eagle Scouts. Both boys are part of Troop 882. Aidan’s project was to restore a wooden bridge, walkway, and fencing at the United Methodist Church of Macedonia. Ethan’s project was a four-part teen library program, “Adulting 101,” in partnership with the Twinsburg Public Library. They will be celebrated at a Court of Honor on May 22 at UMC of Macedonia.

After completing his formation at Saint Mary Seminary and Graduate School of Theology, Michael Joseph Costantini was ordained as a deacon for service to the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland on May 7. The ordination mass for Costantini took place in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in downtown Cleveland and Bishop Edward Malesic was the presider.

Costantini, a parishioner at St. Barnabas Parish in Northfield, is a software sales manager. He and his wife, Francine, who is director of youth ministry for the diocese, have three children, two sons and a daughter. One of their sons is a student at Borromeo Seminary.

According to the rite of ordination of deacons, “Strengthened by the gift of the Holy Spirit, the deacons will help the bishop and his priests in the ministry of the word, of the altar and of charity, showing themselves to be servants to all.”

Ashley Welty of Sagamore Hills was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi at Bowling Green State University. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10% of seniors and 7.5% of juniors are eligible for membership. ∞
