Consider volunteering this year

To the editor,

As we finally emerge from two years of hiding, we celebrate with family and friends wearing a more visible smile and feeling gratitude for all that we have. It is an opportune time to volunteer or join a service group within our community or beyond. Volunteering one’s time and talents gives us a chance to offer ourselves to others. Ironically, however, every time I have volunteered, I have always felt like I received so much more than I gave.

Our Richfield community has many volunteer opportunities including the Kiwanis Memorial Day weekend pancake breakfast, May 29 and 30, many summer events at Richfield Heritage Preserve, AMVETS/Mason’s Steak Fry, Aug. 13, and Community Day, Aug. 14, just to name a few.  Richfield event organizers welcome new volunteers. Please consider offering your time to one of these summer events. You will walk away feeling fulfilled and thankful for being able to contribute to our beautiful community.
