Spring has sprung, well, at least according to the calendar

Last year was a busy year for the fire department. We had 790 calls, which was 15% higher than the year before and the busiest year ever. This year is already trending even higher. We continue to work hard for our residents to keep them safe and well.  We are always happy to help those in need.

When it comes to grants, 2021 was a banner year for us as well. We were so grateful to receive more than $279,000 in grants from Firehouse Subs, Denis Leary, Home Depot, FEMA, OTARMA and the MARCs Radio Grant. We have used these funds to enhance our tools and onsite training.

We also welcomed back the return of some of our events in 2021, including Touch a Truck. It was so nice seeing so many in our community come out and say hi. It’s great to see things getting back to some semblance of normal. Thank you all who came out and we hope to see you again in the fall.

If you aren’t already, be sure to follow our Facebook page Hinckley Ohio Firefighters. We like to send out tips to keep you safe, information about the department and the community and general useful information.

Enjoy the gradual warming temps and stay safe out there! ∞
