Accident closes Brecksville Road, cuts power to Rockside Road businesses

According to the Independence Fire Department, Brecksville Road will be closed in both directions from Lafayette Boulevard to Chestnut Road due to an accident that knocked down power lines. The road closure is expected to last most of the day.

An emergency notification sent out by Cuyahoga County reports that due to the accident, the power grid will be shut down on Brecksville between Chestnut and Rockside roads until 5 p.m. The outage is expected to affect the city’s hotel, business and highway districts.
